Ranked Needs Work.

Let me start with some background information. I’m a Plat 2 with a decent W/L and pretty consistent 20+ kill games in my rank. Today my roommate (Plat 2) and I played 15+ matches today. I had many 20+ kill wins but some losses in there as well. Most notable to me though is our last two games of the night where I had 20+ each game and a significantly higher combat score. At the end of this win streak, my roommate ranks up and I do not. I can provide screenshots of the stats in the morning for validity but at this point, I am confused about how ranks work in this game. I’ll quote it below, but currently the explanation Riot Games has given does not actually align with the way the system currently works.

The Explanation

"Promotions to new ranks will come when you’ve gotten six (6) consecutive rating gains, or little green arrows. There will be games when you lose your rating will break even, saving you from having to win extra games or play out of your mind to catch back up. This system allows you to accurately know and predict when your rank up games are coming."

I'm having the same issue. My buddy and I played the five placement matches the other night and 4 out of the 5 games I played better. More kills, higher combat score and was the team MVP those four games. The only game he played better he went 23-10 and I went 15-8. Somehow he ended up ranking to Gold 2 and i ended up at Gold 1. Some might say it's not a big deal but how does he rank higher If i had the better overall play? Doesn't make much sense. Kind of ruined my experience towards rank and haven't touched it since. At least till they give a better explanation on how its calculated.
