Matchmaker in Valorant

Hello everyone! I have a question. Why am I getting matched against 5 premades? It's kinda annoying to play against 5 operators and get blown up by 5 shotguns every round. Why does the matchmaker allow for these kind of games to happen? Everyone in my team were randoms too. Does that happen regularly or is it rare? Thanks prematurely to anyone who responds to this thread.

unfortunately right now being beta means MM will not work ultimately intended. theyre likely working with a tiny % of players for what their algorithms were designed. it'l prolly happen to everyone a bunch. but the system is essentially just pairing who best matches up skill wise. but with 30 people to choose from instead of 300(loose example), they have to colour 'outside of the lines' sorta speak

Agreed, it's beta, and the MM isn't optimized for skill level or party size, I'd imagine. I'm seriously a pleb, and I've played about half my games where I am with amazing players...and the other half with people more my skill level...it happens in beta. 🙂 Just be glad you're playing!

Also, there are already crazy long queues for 5 stacks. If they would only match them with other 5 stacks it would be an eternal queue.
