Hello! In this article, I would like to tell you how I create a fan-made 3D video for Valorant from scratch.

I won't be lying if I say that shooters are my favorite genre of computer games. Just three months ago, I learned about the release of a game like Valorant and immediately wanted to play it. The game immediately hooked me with its visual component, many agents with their own unique abilities, as well as the shooting mechanics very similar to the CS: GO game. I was especially pleased with the funny phrases of the agents before the start of the battle. And for three months now I regularly go there in the evening after work and have a good time. By the way, my favorite agents are Raze with her grenades and imba ult.
I work in the field of video, mostly I just shoot and edit videos. However, I recently discovered such an exciting and creative field as 3D animation and started learning right away. Learning is hard, so I decided to combine business with pleasure and train my skills by creating a video based on my favorite game Valorant.
Next, I will describe the steps that I go through when creating a video.
Preparation phase
I wanted to make a video for fans like me, so first of all I decided to ask the players and find out their opinion. In the communities of the game on various social networks, I wrote to the players and asked about what attracts them the most to the game and what chips they like. It should be noted that the opinion of the majority of the respondents was similar. Many were very friendly and wished me success in my endeavors. I would like to share with you some of the survey results:
- Most players like the quality and variety of weapon skins;
- The presence of many characters with their own characteristics and with various abilities;
- Game colors and effects.
Thanks to the survey of the players, an understanding of what exactly needs to be shown in the video formed in my head. By the way, the results did not surprise me at all, since my opinion was the same.
Then I started creating the concept of the video, thinking about future scenes and looking for inspiration.
Create a rough animation
After the full picture appeared in my head, I began to create rough versions of scenes using primitive 3D objects, as well as using 3D models from the game.
The first step was to create the initial scene environment and arrange the objects in the frame. I will give an example of one of the video scenes:

After creating the environment, I proceeded to animate the camera and objects in the frame. An example of the resulting animation of the same frame:

Thus, rough versions of all scenes of the future video were created. In the next steps, I will fill the scenes with objects, texture, adjust lighting and decorate the video in every possible way and bring it into a decent look. In the meantime, I would like to show a few more examples of the created animation:

I will study and work on the videos further, and I will definitely share the results of the work done with you. I hope you were interested! See you later!
