Background info:Region: NA; Highest rank: Diamond 1 (beta) Plat 3(act 1); Current Rank: Plat 2
*note I am not complaining about my rank, i just want to bring these issues to light as i may not be the only one experiencing this problem.
So starting with the previous Act, All of my placement matches were against the entire spectrum of platinum level players. I won about half of them and was somehow placed in silver 3. After some grinding, I managed to get quickly get to gold 2, however, once I reached that rank I noticed my win RR started declining heavily like went from 25-28 to 20-24. Which wasn't too bad, but my loss RR also increased heavily from 18-22 up to 24-28. no matter how well I performed, the amount of rating I received didn't seem to change, the only thing that seemed to matter was how much my team won or lost by. With this disadvantaged RR system, I managed to get to Plat 1 80/100. This act, with the ranked changes I placed into high plat 1 and are currently at plat2 28/100. In my last 3 games, I received 20 RR, then 19 RR, then 11RR all for wins, Which is disgustingly unfair and nonsensical. Especially considering I am currently on a near 10 game win-streak and if I am only gaining 11 per win I don't even want to imagine how much RR I will lose on my next loss, considering about 15 matches ago I lost nearly 30 RR for a match MVP game. Using this 11 RR win as an example, My team was a mismatch of golds and low platinum players. Yet the other team was filled with high platinum ranked players who had diamond and immortal act ranked badges. Granted I did not play the best in this game and openly admit I was not shooting well, however, I was being useful in ways such as entry fragging and creating space for my team to push onto sites and trade me out. I feel as if there is no good reasoning for me to only receive 11 RR for a win, especially since I never seemed to be compensated on the alternate end of things when I would drop a 30-6 game yet still lose 25+ RR for a loss.
I think what the problem may be, is surrounding my hidden MMR, Which, considering the people I am placed against I assume is somewhere in the high-plat; low-diamond area. Then, with my rank only being at plat 2, I am being rewarded and punished as if my actual rank was equivalent to my hidden MMR. This post is more of an Alert to Valorant and support to other players who are experiencing the same problem I am (shoutout to all my hardstucks). I don't expect a fix from this, but I hope we can get a discussion going, perhaps if someone has some more knowledge on the topic, can give some genuine answers to some of the questions that have been avoided or danced around for a while now.
