Last season I ended as a Gold 1 so going in to this season I was expecting tobe placed around the same rank, but after winning my first two placement matches as team mvp I was getting games in high gold/plat. Unfortunatly I lost all the last three placements but all of them were against and with plats and golds so I thought I would place around Gold 1 or 2. I got placed Silver 2... Ofcorse I was confused and down because of it but I knew I could get myself back to gold rather quickly, because that is what I did at the ending of last season. But the game after felt weirdly hard to win for being a silver lobby. I thought that the enemies might be smurfing but when I looked at the scoreboard after the match I was still playing in the same rank as I did in my placements, plat/high gold even though I got placed silver 2 myself. I kept playing and I lost 5 games in a row being team mvp in 4 of them and onlyy then, when I was 0/100 onn silver 2 I started seeing silvers in my matches. Because of this I won 2 games in a row and for that reason Valorant thought that it would be a great idea to give me plat games again. Last game, being today, was even worse then how it was in my placements.
I have no clue why this is happening, I thought silvers wasn't even supposed to be able to play with plats. I don't know what to do cause I can't win cosistantly in those ranks. Has anyone else had the same issue?
