Is this now a consistent issue, or does it occasionally revert to normal?
The reason of high ping is usually the saturation of your internet connection's bandwidth. Valorant, and most online games out there, need a tiny amount of that bandwidth to function properly but other things like youtube, netflix, steam etc have the potential to completely demolish your internet's speed.
So the most common solutions are two:
- Get a faster connection. Costs more but you won't regret it.
- Enable QoS on your router. QoS (Quality of Service) basically prioritises which device or which application gets the most bandwidth, in situations where a lot of people are asking for data. There is also a chance that your router doesn't have it and in that case you'll need to buy one that does.
Now if this is a consistent issue, and your ping always hits 5k without anyone saturating the network, it requires more invetsigation. I don't know what it could be. Maybe try playing on a different computer on the same network to eliminate some possible causes?
