So this isn't exactly about the game but rather about maintaining the forums.
in the forums people are going to disagree, and disagreeing should cause healthy discussion.
the dislike button removes that ability.
there was a post about how they should add a "surrender" button, and I commented on it about how it shouldn't be added because it makes the game very casual and takes away from the competitive integrity of the game. and now its been downvoted to the point that its "awaiting approval"
my opinion shouldn't need approval to be posted, but the downvote system makes it that way.
If this website is to ever pick up traction the downvote button has to go. its a way to silence opinions and push anything you don't want talked about out of the forums. its unhealthy for genuine discussion
remove the downvote button so people are forced to say why they don't like an idea rather than trying to hide it by weaponizing the downvote.
the entirety of the overwatch forums had to be remade because of this issue. don't make that mistake.
