My son's play this game & they've nagged me to download it to play with them. So, about a week ago I did just that. I downloaded the riot client which in turn downloaded Valorant & installed without issue, rebooted & attempted to load the game to no avail. When I open the client & click play, the loading icon appears & then nothing for about 10 seconds, then the client pops back up again with the play button clickable once more. The only time I can get the game to open up, is when I exit Riot Vanguard & then click play, the game then loads up but presents me with a pop up saying Riot Vanguard isn't running & a system reboot is required, clicking ok exits this.
Steps I've done.
Made sure my AMD GPU drivers are up to date.
Made sure windows is up to date.
Disabled my AV & FW, no luck.
Uninstalled my AV & FW, no luck.
Added Valorant to safe list & allowed list in my AV & FW, no luck.
Added Valorant to windows firewall, no luck.
Made sure my system is running by performing /sfc scannow & so forth, no luck.
Installed client & Valorant onto a different drive, no luck.
Set vgc to run automatically at startup, no luck.
I've gone through needless procedures from support that did nothing, just for them to say they've passed this on to the Q&A Team who will review all the logs to find the cause of this.
I just do not get why the game opens up if I exit Riot Vanguard, but refuses to load if I have it running.
I'm on Windows 10, 16GB DDR4, Ryzen 5600x on a RX 6700 xt. My son's have the same, except Ryzen 3600x & RX 5600 XTs & they're able to play the game just fine.
So maybe someone can come up with something different to try. Just to note, I use Avast AV & Comodo FW which work perfectly fine & haven't failed to keep me safe yet. I'm no PC novice either, I just can't see why the game refuses to open having tried everything I could dig up online to try. I've installed & reinstalled like half a dozen times to no avail. Yet, I installed this on a FX 8350 with 16GB DDR3 on a RTX 1060 3GB I use for transcoding video's overnight & the game loaded up first time no issue, with the same security software installed & windows 10.
So, fingers crossed someone here knows a fix because Valorant support seem useless.
