Hey everyone,
I recently got hit with a permanent suspension in VALORANT for “using prohibited third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage.” I got the standard Vanguard ban message in-game, saying reports + gameplay review led to it.
Here’s the thing — I wasn’t using anything to cheat or gain an advantage. The only “third-party” software I had installed was something called SnapTap (SnapKey), a GitHub tool I tried a while ago for fun but never used in Valorant. I didn’t even remember it was on my system until I saw others talk about how stuff like that can trigger Vanguard.
What’s worse is that a while back (August 2024), I actually asked Riot Support if SnapTap was bannable, and they responded warning me against using third-party tools like it. I took that seriously. I also found the file containing the software and it states that last time it was modified/opened was on 26th of August in 2024 at 2PM and the ticket in 2024 about it was at 7PM same date. But I blundered by not uninstalling the software, I forgot about it and it just rotted away.
I submitted a ticket explaining all this, but it just got marked “Solved” after the bot said they’d sent it for manual review. No human reply after that. Does “Solved” mean the ban is final? Is there anything else I can do to appeal or clarify?
Anyone been in a similar situation or have advice? I feel kinda hopeless because I tried to do things right and still got hit.
Thanks.
