Valorant afk ban

I've been recently getting banned for being afk in-game. I really dont understand why riot is sooo dumb and actually decided to ban anyone thats afk. This should only be a thing in competitive but that happened to me in a casual game! WTF riot! My family needed help with something so I had to go in mid-game and i got banned. This system is soooo bad and fucked up. Riot please change it to ranked only otherwise fuck off 🙂

LanJeGej Riot is not dumb, is radical with competitiveness. So radical, that they forget that we are human beings unfortunately imo.

We aren't all eSports players who don't leave their room all day, we, you and I are casual players where we have life outside the videogame. That is why I no longer play Valorant, the 45 minutes/1 hour games are too long, and I cannot guarantee that I will be in front of the PC all that time.

LanJeGej Same, I fucking hate this. I left a CASUAL MATCH so I could help my mom with the dishes. When I come back, I've been banned for 1hr and 30 mins on casual plus one week on competitive. Like wtf Valorant. I hope they realize we are not all eSports players and fix this soon.

The reason you got banned is because unlike games such as Overwatch there is no backfill option. So if you leave mid-game there is no-one else to take your place. Although I don't really love this system either if I think I can't play I dont. Its your own fault for playing when you know that, there is a warning when you try and leave afterall for a reason.

If you go afk mid-game, you ruin the game for the 4 other players in your team, and waste their time. Its not rocket science to make sure you have time to play the match, and its not even that big of a commitment. Every time you go afk, you take the fun out of the game for the rest of the players. But its good to hear Riot acting on AFK´s and giving real punishment for it, they should take this seriosly.

Well, my fun does not depend on my team, it depends on the game, which I like and I have a good time playing it. If there is an AFK in my team I usually do not care, it is still winnable, and the fun doesn't go away.

Sergio Even if you dont care about the afk´s, it still doesnt mean afk´s shouldnt be punished. You can literally pick any popular team based game today, and ask their player base if going afk mid game should be punished, and I can guarantee the majority would say yes. The well being of the player base depends on healthy matches, and afk´s make the game worse. Most of the people queue for games expecting to spend the next 30-40 minutes playing the match with full team.

This doens mean there shouldnt be ways to go around this. Being able to FF would be a great choice. There could also be a queue where the matches are going on forever, and you would just jump in and out whenever you feel like. Youd get the gaming experience you are ok with, you get the practice while playing and everyone queueing up for that match mode would know whats going on.

I see on competive rounds many players rage quit when the enemy Team makes every round oneshots. RIOT german Support says you can do this too but i can do this not every round and everytime i want !

I'm a little upset about how harsh the AFK penalties are in this game...

I know a lot of people requested them to be harsher, but it really is cruel to people who don't mean to AFK, especially if the AFK-in-question was actually an accident. When I searched through the forum, it seems like a lot of people were tilted and just venting here, but that's not what I want to do. I want to discuss less violent forms of punishment that, while still effective, won't be so harsh. I still play Valorant of course, but now I'm kind of afraid to queue for even an unrated match because my dodge timer is getting high. For all intensive purposes, every time I've gone AFK and received a penalty, it was due to a connection error, and I reconnected as soon as I could.

Unfortunately, this is happening too frequently, and my AFK timer has just crossed an hour. Listen, I understand I'm letting down my team and all, but it really is an accident. The fact that I can't get that timer back down is upsetting too, like I'm marked now, and anytime it happens again I'm looking at a multiple-hour penalty. What if there was some way to prove to the game that you were trying to be a good player? For example, an honor/reputation system. Constantly being a friendly and active player raised your overall honor level or something, and if you did receive a penalty, it would then be reduced back down to 0 or 1. Maybe even give rewards to players who can keep their honor/reputation level high, to encourage friendly play. There could still be queue penalties of course, but right now they're really harsh I feel. Give me something else to punish. Anything. I just want to play the game.

Maybe that's too much to ask though. I understand I'm upsetting my team and letting everybody down, but I'm really tired of being afraid to join matches because of this big scary hour ban. Is the answer really just to get better internet? I'd like to, of course, but I feel like there should be at least some way I can play the game without feeling like a bad player.

Again, I'm super sorry about the AFK thing. I fixed my router now, and haven't had problems since, but it's still scary knowing a nudge of a power cable means a multiple hour ban. I don't like feeling like a toxic or bad player, I want to play normally. So while I understand this is largely my fault, I wanted to voice my opinion here in a friendly way, maybe get some other people's opinions.

Definitely tell me how you guys feel. I've seen a lot of mixed opinions, but most in a toxic and aggressive setting. I'm not trying to argue or anything, I understand I'm in the wrong here for AFKing, but I'd still like to hear some other people's thoughts.

LinkZ It's the same on my case. I've been banned for not multiple hours, but for a whole week just cos I left an UNRANKED match too help me my mum. I don't have full assurance that I will stay looking at the screen for 45 mins/1 hour straight, what Valorant doesn't understand is that we are not all eSports players with high end PC's and all the time in the world. I hope they fix this soon.

Most of it is to prevent leavers to ruin the game I don't see them changing anything about it. What they could do is add a timeout vote like on CS:GO.

hello, Can we seriously talk about how Riot handles the AFK system and bans? I understand that people who troll or smurf get banned, because they kind of deserve it. But what about the normal people who have to deal with it? So I think their AFK system is a bit crazy and not a good idea. riot should manage their afk system because there are players who live far away from the server like in Africa, in other countries and in the village sometimes the wifis disconnects by itself and also the power plant that cuts off the power of our area and the computer problem that restarts by itself and the valuable items game that crashes and all the problems that riot doesn't care about and it's really shameful while the players bought skin and the money goes away, it's anarchic and everything and it gives bannings etc.... ... so this is not normal and riot should really manage their system afk for example power outage and they don't deserve to be banned or penalized this kind of problem but now I can't because riot doesn't seem to understand that people can leave the game without wanting to.

i got banned for 100 years for leaving in between in couple of matches because of afk first i got a 100 hours bann but it turned into 100 years after 1 day what do now to get my account back
