Learning the mechanics or playing for fun?

So i've been playing this game since the first day, which isn't that long since it released a couple of days ago. (played some matches in the BETA but not much), besides that I have like 200-300 hours of CSGO experience in my backpack. The thing I'm trying to say is that I'm still a newbie in this type of game and am still learning advanced and even basic mechanics. Yet I tend to play with a friend of mine who has a lot of experience in CSGO and knows how to hit his shots and check his corners.

So usually when I queue up with him I tend to play against people who are way better than me, like a lot better. They straight up kill me before I can even react to it sometimes. I am completely untoxic (even if I say it myself) and usually don't tend to get annoyed by these kinda things, but I keep getting punished hard by the small mistakes I make and have KDA's like 11/27/14, not being able to really do my part in the game. But when I play by myself I usually play average/good, I know that is because of the MMR (atleast I think).

Now I am wondering if I am better of playing by myself for a while, or if It's better to keep playing with my friend even if I don't really enjoy getting punished all the time. Still I could learn from the mistakes I make when I play with him and get better faster. So I feel like I need to choose between having fun or getting better. At that point I thought about posting something on the forums for you guys to debate a bit on and I hope you can help me a bit and give me tips.

Listen, this is something that most people deny unfortunately because of the eSports scene, it's just a game for fun like the rest of the games. You can set goals for yourself to improve and so, of course. But nothing about going to win yes or yes. Don't make an effort to learn the mechanics of the characters, you will learn the habilities as you play more games. Although Riot is very radical with the competitive scene in his games, they are still games... what do I mean by this? Play for fun, no matter if you lose the game don't be mad and try again. I'm not very good either, but thanks to the matchmaking system it has placed me in a game where people had the same ability or worse and I have been the MVP of the game with more than 40 kills. When you least expect it, that game will come in which you will be the best.

This is the game I'm talking about, probably I'm not going to have a better games in this game.

Thanks for your reply, I totally get what you are saying, and I am totally agreeing with it. I never get angry because of games so that's fine, it's just not fun to play with people who keep killing you without having a chance to do something about it.

By the way that's a nice score. I bet if you can pull it off ones, you can do it again!

I have already come across such enemies and what I do is change my route. If in the previous round that enemy was in A, in the next round I go to C for example. That works for me, makes me not find it so often.

To answer your question from title... learn mechanics to have fun. Practice and learn on your mistakes.
