-Game is good, needs work
-Get rid of stupid weapon animations when switching weapons after game starts
-Add aim to pistols
-Quick cast, or maybe speed up the transisition between ability and weapon.
-Surrender for games with disconnected players. Or maybe a lobby setup instead so if players get disconnected they can be replaced.
-Less money grubbing up front. Buying the premium could at least get one champ.
-Being able to get experience on a champs contract when you use them while having the next champs contract open... or maybe lower the experience to get accessories after buying a champ..
So I come from a long line of shooters. The things I (and I know plenty of others) like are ... not really here but could easily be.
I really got into PC shooters with UT2k4, coming from good ol golden eye, perfect dark, quake, etc. But Unreal really got me with Onslaught mode. That gave the game a whole new demension from just shooting or planting bombs.
Fast foward, Nexon releases GITS SAC First Assault. I had that feeling again. I was back in shooters. It had it's problems but the pre 2.0 game was phenomenal. Specially for the price of free. The Terminal Conquest game mode, which was basically straight line onslaught was great. When nexon ruined that with the horrible, and greedy 2.0 update, they ate their mistake and had to close the game. I've been through quite a few since but nothing has realyl scratched that itch. Closest is battlefield 1 with onslaught but it's still not a hero shooter.
With that in mind. There's a lot of other things that make shooters great, Specially competitive ones.
One is speed... which valorant is somewhat lacking.
The game is snappy and crisp, but the amount of time those stupid animations take up when switching weapons is absurd. Real life weapons aren't charged every time you deploy them, They aren't folded and unfolded, they're ready to go with one in the pipe... Getting killed because switching to pistol or vice versa forces a very unrealistic and slow animation is ridiculous... It'd be great if you got rid of those... They look cool before the game but after that they're a major problem.
I can add to that the absurd tiem it takes to cast abilities, or go from ability back to weapon...
Also, WTF is up with not being able to aim pistols... ..
Another issue I have with this game is the game duration, specially during a bad game.
I see threads everywhere for a surrender option. That would help if it's not abused.
Hows about a lobby system, so you can add and remove people from games as needed. Then there's a kick option for toxic players too.
It would be nice to see spike rush have a few more rounds as well. Maybe bump it up to 6.
I'd like to see some bigger, more open maps. I can't be alone. The sniper rifle has absurd zoom and sticking it in little narrow hallways and across small open areas is ridiculous.
It'd also be nice to see more people in a game.. Insted of 5v5, hit it with 8v8 for people with enough champs available.
And lastly, maybe an onslaught/conqueset type game mode. That way you're not just dead, you can resapwn and push til you get to one side or get a certian number of points. or just hold as many as possible for a certian amount of time...
Outside of gameplay, I bought the 'premium' package for 10 bucks. Would have been nice to get a champ card with that... Looking like it's gonna take FOREVER to get a champ with 'active contracts'
It's even more disappointing that you can't keep contracts open with champs you already own. A lot of money grubbing going on in there and it's a huge turn off. It'll be worse if riot pumps out champs like you did with LoL back in the day.
Also, my brother keeps getting booted or disconnected, and having to suffer through time outs like he abandoned the match.. that's something that needs to be sorted...
I know this is a lot, but it's where I, and the group fo friends I have that play these types of games are on it right now.
I hope to see some changes for the better. The game is fun, but it gets boring and annoying quick.
